Job Summary
Lead administration and support of Ellucian Banner applications and databases, managing multiple production and testing instances while optimizing performance and tuning. Coordinate installations, upgrades, and integrations with functional offices including Budget, Accounting, and Enrollment Management, and partner with service providers to monitor performance and validate disaster recovery plans. Serve as a technical resource for analysts and programmers, assign tasks to junior staff, and act as a project manager or coordinator on cross-functional teams. Provide input on change control processes and assist with end-user training. This senior role reports to the Director of Enterprise Applications within the Division of Information Technology, focusing on ensuring the security, reliability, and alignment of the ERP environment with strategic goals.
Required Qualifications
- Advanced technical proficiency in Ellucian Banner and Oracle database systems
- Expertise in Oracle SQL, including query optimization, database tuning, configuration, and advanced query development
- Practical experience in data exchange, transformation, and integration across systems
- Solid understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC), including technical design, unit testing, user acceptance testing, and production deployment
- Familiarity with change control procedures, compliance standards, and best practices for maintaining software stability and data integrity
- Proven ability to train and mentor junior technical staff to foster team growth and collaboration
- Strong communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Exceptional customer service orientation, proactive mindset, and a diligent, responsible work ethic
- Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field with three (3) years of progressive related experience
- Bachelor's degree in a related field with five (5) years of progressive experience, or an equivalent combination of education, certifications, and experience
