Job Summary
Database Administrator responsible for designing, building, and deploying database schemas and structures, implementing database utilities and automation, and developing reporting solutions to support client data initiatives. The role requires hands-on work with cloud-based platforms (PostgreSQL, AWS RDS), strong SQL/PSM skills, and experience managing production systems. It requires 10+ years of experience, a Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent), and US citizenship with TS/SCI clearance and polygraph. On-site at McLean, VA or Chantilly, VA, with limited travel. Emphasizes customer service, security practices, and ability to communicate technical concepts to diverse audiences.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline or equivalent experience
- 10+ years of related experience
- Proven experience supporting operational and maintenance activities for production systems
- Hands-on design, build, deploy of database schemas/tables/procedures/permissions
- Experience developing database utilities, automation tools, and reporting solutions
- Capacity and performance forecasting and tuning
- Experience with data imports/exports and report development
- Experience with PostgreSQL or AWS RDS (cloud databases)
- SQL or SQL/PSM
- Oracle Enterprise 12c or newer
- JIRA/Confluence/SharePoint
