Job Summary
Design and maintain scalable semantic models in Power BI, implementing star schema best practices for consistent data layers. Govern the Power BI platform by managing workspace architecture, access control, and content lifecycle policies to enable secure self-service BI. Develop interactive dashboards that translate complex data into actionable insights while optimizing performance and usability. Partner with data engineers to ensure upstream data quality and mentor analysts across the organization. This role supports Pepco's Tech Hub in Porto as the company expands its retail footprint across Europe.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Data Management, Computer Science, or a related field
- 3+ years of professional experience in Power BI / BI development
- Strong expertise in Power BI semantic modeling (Tabular models)
- Advanced knowledge of DAX, SQL, and data modeling techniques
- Proven experience with Power BI Service (workspaces, apps, permissions)
- Hands-on experience building dashboards and reports in Power BI
- Experience implementing PBI service governance and access control
- Understanding of data lakes, data warehousing, and data modelling principles
- Familiarity with version control, CI/CD pipelines, and agile delivery methods
- Comfortable working in cross-functional product and platform teams
Desired Qualifications
- Certification in Microsoft Power BI and Azure is a plus
