Job Summary
Data Technician Installer role focused on end-to-end cabling and network deployment across nationwide projects. Responsibilities include design, installation, dressing, termination, and labeling of structured cabling (fiber and UTP copper) to meet BICSI standards; configuring networks and devices, troubleshooting connectivity issues, and certifying cabling with accurate documentation. Experience with MAC-type projects in retail, commercial, and industrial settings, plus logging of time, expenses, materials, and field resources. Travel nationwide from home base with a company vehicle and remote work flexibility, plus ongoing education and training, and safety-focused performance expectations.
Required Qualifications
- Must demonstrate the highest standards of ethics and integrity
- Must understand and demonstrate a safety mindset in all settings
- Must have the ability to travel, often extensively and sometimes with little notice to anywhere in the United States for several weeks at a time
- Flexibility to work the hours of the traditional second and third shifts
- Strong client / people relationship skills
- Must have at least one year of experience and an aptitude for technology and working with your hands
- Three years industry experience is strongly preferred
- BISCI or other industry certifications are strongly preferred
- Phone, mobile application & PC proficiency required (Microsoft Office applications strongly preferred)
- Ability to read and understand prints and schematics related to installation SOWs
- Must have a valid driver’s license & be able to pass a Motor Vehicle Report (MVR)
- Meet company standards for pre-employment background checks and drug screening
- Typical physical demands include frequent work on lifts, ladders, and possibly rooftops and other harder-to-access areas
- Must be able to clearly communicate verbally and in writing with employees and / or clients; manual dexterity for frequent reaching, climbing, and lifting of objects (up to 50 lbs.); operating power tools
- Must have industry-standard hand tools
