Job Summary
Data Storage Engineer role at Leidos to support the National Digital Exploitation & OSINT Center (NDOC) in Bethesda, MD. Responsible for designing and engineering scalable enterprise storage architectures across on-premises and cloud environments, implementing storage modernization, disaster recovery, data protection, and capacity planning. Responsibilities include installing and administering multi-vendor storage systems (Dell EMC, Quantum, Rubrik), backup policy scheduling and reporting, SAN and NAS administration, VMware ESX integration, data migration, and automation. Requires DoD 8570.11 IAT Level II certification (Security+ CE, CCNA-Security, GSEC, SSCP) and a bachelor’s degree with extensive storage experience; offers mentorship to junior team members and collaboration with senior management. Strong emphasis on performance optimization, reliability, and compliance with customer requirements, with 24/7/365 support and cross-functional coordination.
Required Qualifications
- Basic Qualifications Extensive experience managing and administering Veritas Rubrik
- Experience with scripting technologies such as PowerShell
- Working knowledge of Unix or Linux based operating systems
- Working knowledge of Distributed File System (DFS)
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to mentor junior team members
- Experience working independently to support a 24/7/365 customer environment
- Experience contributing to deliverables and meeting performance metrics
- Experience coordinating with senior management and customers
- Candidate must meet DoD 8570.11-IAT Level II certification requirements (Security+ CE, CCNA-Security, GSEC, or SSCP) with appropriate CE certification
- Extensive experience administering enterprise-level data storage systems (Dell Storage Center, Dell Compellent, Data Domain) with SAN/NAS administration including NFS/SMB and DFS
- Integration with VMware ESX Server
- Data migration strategies
- Snapshots
- Volume replication
- Active Directory permissions management
- Cloud storage management
- Experience with Disaster Recovery and COOP storage backup and recovery
