Job Summary

Own and maintain the data inventory across multiple sources, databases, tables, and columns. Classify direct identifiers, quasi-identifiers, sensitive data, and other personal information by profiling unfamiliar datasets to identify hidden patterns. Conduct re-identification and disclosure-risk assessments on datasets while maintaining and updating data classification catalogues as schemas evolve. Document classification decisions, findings, and rationale clearly. Collaborate with data owners, engineering teams, and the Data Protection Officer to investigate data characteristics, identify inconsistencies, and support data governance, privacy, audit, and compliance initiatives. Requires strong SQL skills, statistical understanding, and experience with large datasets.

Required Qualifications

  • Strong SQL skills with hands-on experience in data profiling and analysis
  • Understanding of data governance, data quality, privacy, compliance, or audit processes
  • Strong statistical understanding of cardinality, uniqueness, distributions, and data patterns
  • Strong analytical and investigative problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively with data owners, engineering teams, privacy teams, and other stakeholders
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to document findings and classification decisions clearly

  • Experience in audit, risk, fraud investigation, or research ethics
  • Experience with data privacy and disclosure-risk assessment
  • Experience working with UK or international clients
