Job Summary

Develop reproducible workflows, analyses, dashboards, and reports to support research and operational decision-making in ophthalmology. Apply statistical analysis, machine learning, and AI techniques to identify patterns and answer research questions regarding ocular diseases. Prepare, clean, validate, and integrate datasets while documenting analytical methods and maintaining reproducible research standards. Design automated processes for data preparation and reporting to improve efficiency. Assist faculty with the education and mentoring of research students and participate in national and international meetings for research dissemination. This role supports the Wisconsin Reading Center's mission to implement big data analysis in preventing and curing blindness within a highly collaborative environment.

Required Qualifications

  • Two years of statistics or machine learning in professional and/or staff setting
  • Proficiency with Python, Linux, and general programming, especially in statistics and machine learning
  • Master Degree required; focus in Machine learning, statistics, data science, applied mathematics or related
  • Travel to Madison, WI on quarterly preset dates
  • Occasional night and weekend events
  • Criminal background check
  • References to answer questions regarding misconduct, including sexual violence and sexual harassment

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience with PyTorch or similar deep learning library
  • Docker
  • Neural Networks for Image Recognition and Segmentation
  • Healthcare related experience
