Job Summary
Conduct R&D by generating relevant data for algorithm training and leading analysis of large clinical and assay datasets using statistical and machine learning techniques. Develop, refine, and validate predictive models for diagnosis, risk prediction, and treatment response, while engineering features to enhance model accuracy. Create clear visualizations to communicate insights to stakeholders and transfer algorithms to application software developers. Maintain algorithm integrity throughout the development lifecycle. This full-time contract spans three years with 40 hours per week.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree in data science, Computer Science, Statistics, Bioinformatics, Biomedical Engineering, or a related discipline
- 2 years' experience in a similar function
- Proficiency in programming languages commonly used in data science such as Python, R, or SQL
- Familiarity with data management and preprocessing techniques, including data cleaning, transformation, and normalization
- Machine Learning: Basic understanding of machine learning concepts and algorithms, including supervised and unsupervised learning, classification, regression, clustering, and dimensionality reduction
- Ability to create clear and informative data visualizations using tools like Matplotlib, Seaborn, or ggplot2
- Fluency in English
- Openness to learn about performing experimental work in a laboratory environment and with bacteria
- Transferring algorithms and communication to professional application software developers. Maintain algorithm integrity/performance
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with machine learning libraries such as scikit-learn or TensorFlow
- Experience with handling large-scale datasets and databases
- Domain Knowledge: Familiarity with the fundamentals of in-vitro diagnostics, including knowledge of biomarkers, assay technologies, and clinical applications
- Understanding basic microbiology and medical terminology
- Good communication skills to non-technical stakeholders
- A passion for working in a young company environment
