Job Summary
Data Scientist to join the PuTC Data Science team in Pune, focusing on undirected research and open-ended data problems in the oil and gas domain using advanced AI/ML/DL techniques. Responsibilities include designing and executing research, developing data-driven algorithms and prototypes for classification, regression, anomaly detection, failure prediction, and optimization, collaborating with cross-functional teams, delivering presentations and demonstrations, shaping new research directions, and contributing to technical discussions and reviews. Strong emphasis on Python-based deep learning models (TensorFlow/Keras/PyTorch), Generative AI, NLP/text analytics, computer vision, and retrieval-augmented generation; advanced degree and 3-5 years of experience in related fields are required.
Required Qualifications
- MS/MTech/PhD in computer science, mathematics, physics, applied sciences, engineering or similar disciplines
- 3-5 years of experience in algorithm development using General AI, Generative AI with relevant experience
- Deep understanding of Generative AI, deep learning algorithms and their applications to text analytics/NLP, computer vision
- Strong background in retrieval augmented generation (RAG), agentic frameworks
- Strong background in linear algebra, statistics, and probability
- Strong background in Python programming
- Hands-on experience in developing deep learning models using TensorFlow, Keras, PyTorch
- Experience in patents or publications at top-tier peer-reviewed conferences or journals
