Job Summary
Design, develop, and improve core pricing algorithms and advanced statistical models to maximize revenue, occupancy, and profitability. Apply rigorous statistical methodologies to quantify uncertainty and generate reliable recommendations for pricing, operations, and product initiatives. Analyze large datasets to uncover growth opportunities and partner with Revenue Management, Product, Engineering, and BI to translate business questions into scalable analytical solutions. Define evaluation frameworks to measure the effectiveness of new strategies and productionize machine learning models. Stay current with AI and decision science to communicate complex findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
- Degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a quantitative field
- 3+ years of hands-on experience applying machine learning/statistics to real-world business problems
- Strong foundation in probability theory, statistical inference, regression analysis, Bayesian statistics, experimentation, causal inference, and predictive modelling
- Proven experience developing, validating, and improving machine learning models in business environments
- Strong programming and modelling skills in Python
- Experience with modern data science libraries
- Excellent SQL skills
- Experience working with large analytical datasets
- Experience designing experiments and evaluating business initiatives
- Strong commercial mindset
- Passion for exploring new analytical methods/AI tech
- Ability to translate complex findings into measurable business recommendations
- Fluency in English
- Excellent communication skills
- Stakeholder management skills
- Ability to explain complex concepts to audiences with varying technical backgrounds
- Must be available for hybrid work (100% office or partially remote)
- Must be willing to learn German after passing probation period
- Must be willing to relocate to Munich if living further than 300km from the office
