Job Summary
Data Scientist to join Leidos' research-focused data science team and work on challenging, mission-focused analytics for national security programs. The role involves designing, building, and optimizing a Data Science platform to produce and analyze results, disseminate findings, and contribute to publications and presentations. You will work with big data across domains such as cyber security, intelligence analysis, and social media, collaborating with a hybrid team of analysts, software developers, network engineers, and program managers. Responsibilities include supporting multiple projects, extracting novel data sources, improving predictive algorithms, deploying data science applications with Docker/Kubernetes/OpenShift, and presenting insights to non-technical audiences. Desired background includes strong research design, quantitative methods, user interface design, customer outreach, and experience with systems like Elastic Stack, SQL, and Git; familiarity with AWS/C2S and on-prem environments; and experience with knowledge graphs, graph ML, NLP, social network analysis, and related analytics tools. Required Qualifications
- B.S. Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Economics, Statistics, Engineering, Physics, or Computational Social Science with 2+ years of experience; or Master’s degree or equivalent graduate degree
- Ability to obtain TS/SCI with Polygraph post hire
- Experience in data science, analytics or quantitative intelligence analysis
- Proficiency in Python
- Deployment of data science applications (e.g. Streamlit) using Docker, Kubernetes, and/or OpenShift
- Experience with Elasticsearch and Kibana and/or SQL
- Experience working with a hybrid team of analyst, engineers, and developers to build and deploy complex, but easy-to-use algorithms and analytical platforms
- Previous experience performing Data Science or Research in data analytics or big data
- Knowledge of git or other version control technologies
- Experience with on-prem, air gapped environments and/or AWS/C2S
- Familiarity with hardware platforms (CPUs, GPUs, FPGAs)
- Ability to obtain and maintain security clearance
