Job Summary
Data Scientist position supporting an Intelligence Community program in Northern Virginia. Work as part of a blended team of government and contractor personnel (data scientists, data engineers, and analysts) to support a range of activities across structured and unstructured data, including ETL, data engineering, data strategy and architecture, data analytics, and data-centric software engineering for DevOps environments. Candidates will apply open-source tools, cloud computing, machine learning and data visualization to support advanced data problems, data modeling, and interpretation of results from multiple sources. Must have current TS/SCI with polygraph and be local to the Washington, DC metro area to support on-site work 5 days/week; relocation support will be considered for candidates outside the commuting area. Requires U.S. citizenship and a Bachelor's degree in a related discipline plus 5+ years of IC data analytics experience, with hands-on coding in Python and experience with Hadoop and open-source data analytics tools. The role emphasizes collaboration within a blended team, communication skills, and the ability to contribute to data-centric projects across data engineering, analytics, and software environments.
Required Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship
- Current TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph
- Local to Wash DC Metro area and available to support on-site work 5 days/week (Northern Virginia locations)
- Bachelor's degree in data analytics, data science, statistics, operational research, or related discipline
- 5+ years of relevant experience supporting a related IC data analytics environment
- Experience using open-source tools, cloud computing, machine learning and data visualization
- Hands-on coding experience (varies by task) including Apache Hadoop, and Python
- Experience in a data analytics environment, and the use of open-source tools, cloud computing, machine learning and data visualization
- Advanced knowledge of machine learning
- Effective written and verbal communication skills to work in a dynamic team environment
