Job Summary
Data Scientist II role in Evozyne focusing on analytical strategy for drug discovery programs through experimental design, data synthesis, and feature featurization. You will collaborate with experimental scientists to understand assay design, wrangle multi-assay datasets, build decision-grade plots and summaries, and translate results for bench scientists to leadership. You’ll develop reproducible pipelines to convert high-throughput experimental results into features for training deep learning models, maintain data processing software infrastructure, and deliver analyses and visualizations that inform next-step experiments and go/no-go decisions. Requires PhD or Master’s with substantial relevant experience, strong Python data-science skills, ML/deep learning expertise (PyTorch/TensorFlow), and experience in cross-functional scientific environments. Location is hybrid in Chicago (3 days/week in-office) with US-based remote work possible.
Required Qualifications
- PhD in a relevant scientific or technical discipline OR Master’s degree with corresponding years of experience
- 0-2+ years postdoctoral or industry experience for PhD path OR 4+ years for Master’s path
- 2+ years of cross-functional collaborative scientific experience
- Extensive experience in experimental scientific discipline designing/executing experiments
- Advanced proficiency in preprocessing, analyzing, and cataloging high-throughput molecular biology or biochemistry datasets in Python
- Familiarity with database organization and management
- Expertise in ML and deep learning implementation, preferably PyTorch or TensorFlow
