Job Summary
The Data Scientist role involves enhancing analytics pipelines for planning, forecasting, and inventory optimization in the HP supply chain. Responsibilities include building reproducible workflows in Databricks, developing models for forecasting and inventory analysis, and collaborating with teams to improve data quality and automate processes. Required skills include proficiency in Python, SQL, Databricks, experience with model building, and an understanding of feature engineering. A background in supply chain data and experience with visualization tools are advantageous.
Required Qualifications
- Strong programming skills in Python, SQL, Databricks, GitHub, and MLflow
- Experience with Pandas, PySpark, and Scikit-learn
- Demonstrated ability to build regression, classification, or time-series models for business applications
- Familiarity with feature engineering techniques such as lag, rolling, and categorical encoding
- Experience with workflow automation, reproducibility, and parameterized scripts
- Ability to explain analytical results and model behavior in business terms
Desired Qualifications
- Knowledge of supply chain or planning data such as forecast, backlog, and inventory
- Experience with Power BI or similar visualization tools
