Job Summary
Data Scientist / GIS role focusing on developing GIS models and ETL pipelines using ArcGIS Pro to analyze and visualize mobility of ground-based military systems. Responsibilities include building GIS models with raster/vector data (topography, weather, road networks), conducting data analysis with Python, R, ArcPy, Matlab, and Excel; developing exploratory data analysis techniques (data mining, aggregation, visualization); creating production-ready data workflows and interactive map applications via ArcGIS Online Portal; translating research questions into testable designs and robust analyses; delivering technical assessments and insights to support operations and decision-making. Must have a BA/BS in a related field, 3+ years of GIS experience, ArcGIS Pro Python toolboxes, and active TS/SCI clearance with CI Polygraph willingness; travel up to 10% locally.
Required Qualifications
- BA/BS degree in GIS/geography/data analysis/computer science or related field
- Proficient with ArcGIS Pro toolkits (Spatial Analyst, Spatial Statistics, Network Analyst)
- Able to convert ArcGIS Desktop Python 2.x toolkits to ArcGIS Pro Python 3.x
- 3+ years of experience as GIS Analyst or closely related field
- Active DoD TS/SCI clearance
- CI Polygraph willing to obtain
- Ability to conduct analysis and produce comprehensive technical assessments
- Ability to work independently with minimal oversight
