Job Summary
Lead data scientist role focusing on building models for matching, recommendation, and ranking to connect job seekers with opportunities. Work with skills/occupation taxonomies, labor market data, and production-ready models. Collaborate with Engineering to move models into production, monitor performance, and translate complex data into actionable insights for team and customers. Emphasis on applied modelling, data representation of skills/jobs data, and end-to-end product impact. Open to candidates in Canada or the US with remote work; travel up to once per quarter for offsites.
Required Qualifications
- 4+ years of applied data science experience
- explicit jobs-and-skills or workforce data experience OR closely related data with pathway to workforce problems
- fluency in Python and SQL
- solid grounding in machine learning, NLP, and recommendation/matching techniques
- ability to work with large, imperfect datasets and communicate findings clearly
