Job Summary

Design and implement forecasting models using machine learning algorithms to predict future trends and identify anomalies in historical data. Manage data processing workflows with orchestration tools like Prefect to streamline execution of exploratory data analysis and manipulation tasks. Develop interactive dashboards using Plotly Dash or Power BI to present insights to stakeholders and facilitate data-driven decision-making. Conduct thorough data cleaning and preprocessing to address missing values and outliers, ensuring high-quality datasets. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, integrate data from sources such as PI Process Book, and provide analytical support for operational improvements. This 8-month term in Calgary begins May 2027 for students in engineering programs.

Required Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a bachelor's or master's degree program in Engineering
  • Proven completion of formal training related to data science
  • A pre-employment drug and alcohol test must be successfully completed
  • All candidates applying to Canadian Natural must have legal authorization to work in Canada with no restrictions
  • Job location: Calgary, Alberta – Head Office
  • Work schedule: 5 x 2, 8 hours per day (Monday – Friday)
  • Term length: 8 Months
  • Term start: May 2027
