Data Science Resident (Graduates & Undergraduates)

Job Summary
Conduct practical research on live Finaira systems, executing the full forecasting lifecycle from data quality to behavioral segmentation using classical and deep-learning models. Run R&D on open domain problems by benchmarking new forecasting methods against established baselines and translating promising literature ideas into tested experiments. Complete two structured rotations of five to six months, each culminating in a shipped contribution and proof-of-concept under the guidance of discipline mentors. This 12-month residency begins with a five-week onboarding phase where your two-track pairing is assigned based on cohort balance and observed strengths. Residents graduate into defined pathways with a dedicated mentor and a portfolio of real contributions, with an optional track supporting research publication.
Required Qualifications
- Solid Python: you have written code someone else could run
- Statistics, probability, and applied machine learning at working depth
- Data wrangling and feature work on real, messy data
- Comfort designing an experiment and evaluating it honestly
- You read technical papers without handholding
- Version control and reproducible code as a habit
- A senior student graduating in 2027, or a graduate within one year of graduation
- Major: Computer Science, Computer Engineering, AI, Data Science, Communication and Networks Engineering, Business Informatics, or Actuarial Science
- Professional English: you will read papers and write technical documentation
- Commitment: Available for the full twelve months, starting October 2026
- Graduates: full-time on site with one remote day accommodated, on site throughout the first six months
Desired Qualifications
- Strong signals, none required: time series work, clustering or segmentation on a real dataset, a thesis or reading group, exposure to LLM tooling
