Job Summary
Instruct undergraduate and future graduate students in the Data Science Program, develop course materials for the undergraduate and future graduate sequence, and support academic advising for both undergraduate and graduate data science students. Assist with summer orientation for future graduate data science students and serve on college and university committees as appropriate. Maintain regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance while fostering collegial working relationships. This 12-month, 100% appointed, non-tenure track position is located in Fayetteville and offers tuition waivers for employees and families.
Required Qualifications
- Ph.D. or similar terminal degree in Data Science, Data Analytics, or closely related fields (e. g., computer science, statistics, operations research, industrial engineering) from an accredited institution of higher education; conferred by the start of employment
- Demonstrated effective experience as a teacher for undergraduate and graduate data science, data analytics, or closely related fields courses at the third-year and fourth-year levels
- Experience with programming in Python, R, and SQL
- Ability to display a commitment to undergraduate and graduate data science students in developing their academic skills, especially upper-level students
- Ability and interest in developing graduate level course work in data science
- Persons must have proof of legal authority to work in the United States on the first day of employment
