Job Summary

Lead a team of data scientists and analysts to advance data science and optimization efforts for a logistics-focused business. Own people management and the technical direction of data science & optimization, overseeing projects spanning pricing, finance, and marketing with a strong Operations Research focus. Collaborate with business stakeholders and other technical teams to ensure projects solve the right problems and drive measurable business impact. Establish standards for code reviews, version control, automation, and robust project lifecycles, while guiding modeling choices across optimization, forecasting, experimentation, statistical analysis, forecasting, and ML. This remote-first role is based out of Houston, TX, with emphasis on aligning technical direction to multi-year strategic goals in an algorithmic logistics context.

Required Qualifications

  • Technical degree in Industrial Engineering, Mathematics, Operations Research, or similar field
  • Track record of successfully delivering mathematical optimization/operations research/industrial engineering projects
  • Experience managing and building practical business forecasting projects
  • Strong statistical fundamentals
  • Experience with Python, Julia, R or similar programming languages in a team development context
