Data Science Lead

Job Summary
Lead and guide a team of innovation-focused data scientists while remaining hands-on with EAMRM data science priorities and GenAI projects. Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to deploy models using Python or PySpark on big data cloud platforms, ensuring adherence to model risk management and governance processes. Collaborate with engineering teams to design Machine Learning, dashboarding, and AI applications within an AWS environment, translating complex findings into actionable insights for client product evolution. This hybrid role reports to the Director of Data Science and Gen AI. Experian is a global data and technology company powering opportunities across financial services, healthcare, and automotive sectors.
Required Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience in AI, data science, or predictive modeling
- Data science team management experience
- Advanced degree in Machine Learning, Data Science, AI, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field
- Statistical modeling proficiency in at least one programming language
- Coding skills in Python
- Proficiency with distributed computing frameworks (AWS)
- Experience with large data analysis using Spark (PySpark)
- Model development using Python or SAS
- Expertise with Hadoop and NoSQL related technologies such as Map Reduce, Hive, HBase, MongoDB, Cassandra
- Solid understanding of ML algorithms (e.g., XGBoost, GANs, clustering, graph algorithms, hyperparameter tuning)
- Experience applying Generative AI-based tools
- Rapid prototyping of new concepts from ideation through early client success
- Proven experience managing analytics or data science teams
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
