Job Summary
Support budgeting, forecasting, and workforce planning initiatives by maintaining Power BI dashboards, validating data quality, and preparing recurring operational reports. Perform variance analysis to identify trends and risks, reconcile employee data across systems, and document business processes using Microsoft Visio. Collaborate with Operations, Engineering, Finance, and Corporate teams to translate data into actionable insights for strategic decision-making. This co-op role offers hands-on experience in a large energy infrastructure company, providing mentorship and exposure to continuous improvement projects that directly support business performance.
Required Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a post-secondary degree program in Data Science, Business Analytics, Data Analytics, Statistics, Mathematics, Management Information Systems (MIS), Computer Science, Economics, or a related analytical discipline
- Experience using Microsoft Excel, including Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, SUMIFS, and data validation
- Experience with Power BI, dashboard development, data visualization, reporting tools, or similar analytics platforms
- Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills with the ability to identify trends, patterns, and business insights
- Comfortable working with data from multiple sources and validating information for accuracy
- Curiosity and a desire to understand the 'why' behind the data
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal, collaboration, and relationship-building skills
- Ability to work effectively with stakeholders across different teams and levels of the organization
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
