Job Summary
Lead QA efforts for the Reinsurance Datawarehouse Application by critically analyzing business requirements and designing Master Test Plans that integrate automated data tests into the deployment pipeline. Establish and communicate quality assurance standards while managing test automation for pipelines, reviewing SQL scripts, and verifying role-based access control and data masking for compliance. Reconcile Power BI reports against Snowflake raw data, lead user acceptance testing with Finance and Underwriters, and produce audit-ready evidence for business and audit approval. Work closely with product management to address gaps and ensure reliable, high-quality software delivery in a fast-paced environment.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Information Technology, or a related field
- Minimum of 5+ years of Data Warehouse, Reporting, Data Quality, or Data Testing experience
- Strong experience with Azure cloud technologies, including Azure Data Factory (ADF), Azure DevOps, Azure SQL, and other Azure-based data platform solutions
- Strong hands-on SQL skills with experience validating, reconciling, and analyzing data used for reporting
- Experience testing and validating reporting data for accuracy, completeness, consistency, and overall data quality
- Experience performing data-focused QA testing, including validation of reporting outputs, business rules, and reporting logic, rather than application UI or workflow testing
- Experience testing financial, insurance, reinsurance, regulatory, or operational reporting solutions
- Experience working within the insurance, reinsurance, financial services, or other regulated industries
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills with the ability to work effectively across business and technology teams
- Location / Work Arrangement: This is a hybrid role based in the Farmington, CT office or Morristown, NJ, with an expectation of regular in-office collaboration 3x a week
Desired Qualifications
- Deep understanding of QA methodologies, testing tools, defect management, and Agile/Scrum delivery practices
- Advanced SQL skills, including complex joins, CTEs, window functions, data reconciliation, and data validation techniques
- Strong experience with Power BI Desktop and Service, including DAX, Power Query (M), and report validation
- Experience with Tableau, Cognos, SSRS, or similar BI tools
- Experience in reinsurance, insurance, or financial services, including familiarity with treaties, premiums, claims, and loss triangles
- Experience working with third-party vendors and cross-functional business and technology teams to deliver quality solutions
- Excellent communication, organizational, and stakeholder management skills
- Strong business orientation with a demonstrated ability to deliver quality outcomes aligned with organizational objectives
- Experience with Power BI reporting validation and testing
- Experience with other reporting and BI platforms such as Tableau, Cognos, SSRS, or similar tools
- Experience developing, executing, and maintaining QA automation and automated regression testing for data and reporting platforms
- Experience creating audit-ready testing documentation, test evidence, and user sign-off materials to support internal controls, compliance, and external audit requirements
