Data QA Lead

Job Summary
Define and implement enterprise data QA strategy, standards, and frameworks for the data platform. Design and execute automated and manual tests for data pipelines, transformations, and curated datasets while collaborating with data engineers to embed quality assurance into development cycles. Create profiling metrics, issue logs, and reports on quality KPIs to identify root causes and drive remediation. Provide assurance during major releases and transitions, championing a culture of data quality awareness across technical and business teams. Work in a hybrid model (2 days remote, 3 days onsite) in Porto, supporting the company's growth in Europe with a focus on simple, practical outcomes.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Data Management, Computer Science, or a related field
- 3+ years of professional experience in a data quality, QA or test automation role
- Experience testing data pipelines, ETL processes or data warehouse environments
- Familiarity with data testing frameworks, data validation scripting, and QA automation tools
- Experience with cloud data platforms and tools (e.g. Azure, DataBricks, Snowflake)
- Strong understanding of data quality dimensions (completeness, accuracy, consistency, timeliness, etc.)
- Good documentation, analytical, and issue resolution skills
- Strong communication and collaboration across technical and business teams
- Able to operate independently while contributing to cross-functional delivery goals
- Strong problem-solving mindset and hands-on approach
- Ability to work in an international and fast-paced environment
- Fluent English (mandatory)
Desired Qualifications
- Certifications in software/data testing, QA, or data quality tools (e.g. ISTQB, DataOps)
