Data Protection Manager (m/f/d)

Job Summary
Own incoming data protection inquiries from customers and their data protection officers end-to-end, ranging from broad questionnaires to specific technical questions. Maintain the internal GDPR foundation by managing retention periods, records of processing activities, and technical measures, ensuring implementation across tool-owning teams. Keep an up-to-date picture of customer data flows through the product by working closely with tech leads, while reviewing vendor contracts and data processing agreements to support negotiations. Maintain data protection documentation in the trust center and act as the main interface to external DPOs. This role requires hands-on GDPR experience in a modern SaaS environment, structured thinking to connect data protection with information security, and business-fluent English. Required Qualifications
- Hands-on data protection experience
- Clear GDPR specialization
- Experience in a modern SaaS environment
- Experience with products that use AI
- Confidence to assess and structure the compliant use of international sub-processors
- Solid grasp of how data flows through a software product
- Curiosity to keep that picture current
- Structured thinking
- Ability to build processes and policies
- Ability to see how data protection connects to information security, quality and regulatory topics
- Business-fluent English
- Ability to answer customer and DPO questions quickly

- Ability to ensure GDPR foundation is actually implemented with tool-owning teams
- Ability to keep an up-to-date picture of how customer data flows through the product

- Ability to support negotiations on vendor contracts and DPAs
- Ability to maintain data protection documentation in a trust center
- Ability to act as main interface to external DPO
