Data Privacy Advisor

Job Summary
Support responses to privacy-related queries and provide advice on all aspects of data privacy, including complex consulting activities and higher-risk initiatives. Escalate complex matters to the Data Protection Officer where appropriate and champion the Data Privacy Policy across the organisation. Review enterprise and information architecture considerations to embed privacy-by-design principles while providing guidance on UK Data Protection requirements and GDPR obligations. Build collaborative relationships with colleagues, suppliers, and stakeholders to identify, assess, and manage privacy risks. Report privacy control management information to senior stakeholders and support the development of privacy management tools such as OneTrust.
Required Qualifications
- Strong understanding of data privacy principles, policies and regulatory requirements
- Knowledge of privacy legislation, including GDPR and UK data protection requirements
- Experience supporting privacy-by-design considerations within business and technology environments
- Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to work collaboratively across business functions
- Sound judgement with the ability to identify, assess and escalate risks where necessary
- Ability to communicate complex regulatory requirements clearly and effectively
- Experience supporting privacy governance, controls, reporting and continuous improvement activities
