Job Summary
Automate, build, and maintain scalable cloud database platforms on AWS, including Aurora, RDS, and migration strategies using Terraform and automation pipelines. Lead a team of Database Engineers while diagnosing incidents, optimizing performance and costs, and enforcing security best practices across distributed systems. Participate in production on-call rotation to provide leadership during high-severity incidents and ensure compliance with governance standards. This role requires 10+ years of database engineering experience with 3+ years leading cloud initiatives, reporting to the Cloud Database Leader. Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in database engineering/administration
- 3+ years leading cloud database initiatives
- Hands-on expertise with AWS cloud databases: Aurora Postgres/MySQL, RDS, DMS, SCT
- Strong experience in Infrastructure as Code using Terraform
- Proficiency with DevOps tools such as Jenkins, Bitbucket, Ansible
- Strong scripting abilities in Python
- Deep understanding of database performance tuning, HA/DR, replication, and security
- Experience with cloud monitoring and cost optimization
