Job Summary
Data Platform Engineer Analyst responsible for designing and developing scalable data pipelines and architectures to support AI/ML initiatives. Key duties include building data transformation workflows with dbt, orchestrating pipelines with Apache Airflow (MWAA), and integrating Snowflake as the core data warehouse. Responsibilities also cover writing efficient Snowflake SQL, implementing ETL/ELT patterns, and developing data pipelines using Python, Shell, and Scala/Java. You will create and maintain Power BI dashboards, collaborate with data engineers and business teams across bioinformatics, omics, clinical and operational domains, and contribute to global data platform initiatives under mentorship from senior engineers. Required qualifications include a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field and 1-3 years of experience, with hands-on experience in Snowflake, dbt, Airflow, and Power BI. The role operates in a hybrid working model in Toronto, Canada, within Sanofi’s Digital Data Team, supporting AI-first data solutions for healthcare outcomes.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's or master’s degree in computer science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field
- 1-3 years of experience in data engineering or related field
- Hands-on experience with Snowflake, dbt, Apache Airflow (MWAA), and Power BI
- Strong knowledge of data transformation and data modeling, data ingestion, and data quality practices
- Proficiency in Python, Shell scripting, and Scala/Java for pipeline development
- Ability to design and implement data pipelines and data platforms that scale globally
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
- Willingness to learn and collaborate with cross-functional teams
- Understanding of data mesh concepts is a plus
