Job Summary
Data Operations Analyst Intern responsible for building and maintaining Excel workbooks for FO route planning, territory coverage, and visit schedules; cleaning and organizing location data; creating route maps and territory layouts; supporting route optimization; producing planning sheets; tracking coverage gaps; maintaining documentation; incorporating feedback from field operators to improve accuracy and usability of plans.
Required Qualifications
- MS Excel: Intermediate-advanced: VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, INDEX-MATCH, pivot tables, conditional formatting, data validation, named ranges, SUMIFS, COUNTIFS, IF, date logic
- Data hygiene: Sorting/filtering large datasets, deduplication, standardizing addresses/zones, spotting inconsistencies
- Spatial / route thinking: Grouping locations by proximity, zones, or drive time; basic understanding of territories and visit sequencing
- Attention to detail: Accurate data entry, cross-checking outputs, catching errors before plans go to the field
- Communication: Clear notes in spreadsheets; ability to explain how a route or territory was built
- Reliability: Meet deadlines; follow templates and SOPs; respond to revision requests quickly
- Nice-to-Have: Experience with Google Sheets or Excel Power Query for imports and refreshes; Mapping tools (Google My Maps, QGIS, route APIs); Basic SQL; Prior work in logistics/field operations; Understanding of US/Canada metro markets or multi-city territory design
