Job Summary
Data Management Vice President in the Chief Data Office for Markets leads transformation to elevate data quality management. Partners with Front Office, Business Managers, Operations, and Technology to document data flows, ensure data is fit-for-purpose, and resolve complex data challenges. Drives root cause analysis, governance, and remediation of data quality issues; defines end-to-end data lineage to support regulatory requirements (e.g., BCBS 239); establishes data quality controls across critical data flows; champions data quality practices across the Commercial & Investment Bank; provides advisory services on high-profile data initiatives; engages senior stakeholders to drive adoption of data quality standards; represents the CDO in cross-functional forums and contributes to data management strategies and frameworks.
Required Qualifications
- Significant experience in financial services, with a background in operations, finance, program management, data analytics, or business analysis.
- Proven track record leading projects or BAU initiatives focused on data quality, data lineage, control documentation, and metadata management.
- Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to think strategically and connect detailed analysis to broader business objectives.
- Proficiency in manipulating and analyzing large data sets using Excel (pivots, formulas, charts) and other data tools.
- Familiarity with regulatory frameworks such as BCBS 239 and industry best practices in data management.
- Exceptional communication, presentation, and influencing skills with experience engaging senior stakeholders across business and technology.
- Deep understanding of business practices and products within the Commercial & Investment Bank, focusing on Markets.
- Ability to document data flows, ensure data fit-for-purpose, and resolve complex data challenges.
- Experience leading discussions with technology teams to implement data quality remediation solutions.
- Knowledge of data governance, data quality, data lineage, and metadata management concepts (preferred).
- Experience in a Chief Data Office or Data Quality organization within a large financial institution (preferred).
- Proficiency in querying databases or data stores for advanced data analysis (preferred).
- Ability to produce executive-level PowerPoint presentations for senior audiences (preferred).
