Job Summary
Data Management & Governance Manager accountable for designing and maintaining processes to implement data management requirements, promoting data governance and data quality across IT and business, coordinating with Data Owners and Stewards, and aligning governance with SDLC and regulatory requirements. Collaborates with Metadata Management, Data Quality, Data Architecture, Data Product and Data Analytics teams to ensure data meets business needs and is compliant. Supports rollout and continual improvement of AIG’s data governance framework, with emphasis on in-person collaboration and an office-based culture in London. Requires experience in data governance/quality, familiarity with governance tools (e.g., Collibra, Informatica), regulatory awareness, strong stakeholder management, and proficiency with MS Office suite. Emphasizes partnership across Business Intelligence and IT, and involvement in Gen AI projects to ensure data quality and appropriate controls.
Required Qualifications
- Experience in data governance, IT governance, data quality, audit or related area
- Technical skills and experience necessary to understand project IT documentation
- Experience working with data governance tools, e.g., Collibra, Informatica
- Knowledge of data-related regulatory requirements and awareness of emerging trends
- Familiarity with the insurance industry, processes, and terminology will be an advantage
- Strong organizational, project management and multi-tasking skills
- Ability to work closely with peers, business and IT colleagues at various levels of seniority and build strong partnerships with key stakeholders
- Proficiency in using MS Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Visio)
- Excellent communication, presentation and influencing skills
