Data Governance Specialist

Job Summary
Design and execute a comprehensive data governance framework tailored to the organization, establishing clear policies, standards, and procedures for data management. Monitor data compliance with internal and external regulations, conduct audits and assessments to ensure ongoing governance effectiveness, and lead initiatives for data classification, lineage, and metadata management. Ensure data quality, privacy, and security measures are upheld by collaborating with cybersecurity teams to implement protection mechanisms and manage risks related to breaches or unauthorized access. Define metrics to measure data quality, identify and remediate issues, and establish validation rules while driving data stewardship and ownership programs across the WFS data community.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Risk, Business, Finance, IT or related field
- 3 to 5 years of experience in a Data Management or Data Governance capacity
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Strong analytical skills with creative and flexible approach to problems solving
- Ability to produce high quality documentations
- Experienced cloud practitioner and exposure to AWS cloud environment
- Experience using data governance tools ex. Atlan, Ataccama, Calibra, Amazon DataZone etc.
- Proficiency in SQL/PostgreSQL/Redshift and/or Python
Desired Qualifications
- Certified Data Management professional
- 3+ years' experience in the Financial, Banking or FinTech industry in a risk management or data management role
