Data Governance Manager

Job Summary
Maintain and evolve the enterprise-wide data governance framework, ensuring policies, standards, and processes are current and aligned with organizational strategy. Manage stewardship of data definitions, metadata standards, and quality expectations while establishing metrics, thresholds, and monitoring expectations. Provide definitive guidance as the central authority for interpreting governance policies and support stakeholders in applying best practices to enable trusted, high-quality data. Facilitate governance councils and cross-functional forums to drive alignment, resolve discrepancies, and oversee issue management processes with root cause analysis. Partner with IT stakeholders to ensure governance tools support enterprise standards and ensure practices meet regulatory and privacy requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in information management, Data Science, Computer Science, Business, or a related field
- 5–8 years of experience in data governance, data management, data quality, metadata management, or related disciplines
- Experience working within a hub‐and‐spoke governance model or other federated data management structures
- Hands-on experience with enterprise data governance tools (e.g., Azure Purview Collabra, Alation or Similar)
- Familiarity with data privacy and regulatory frameworks (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, SOX)
- Strong understanding of data architecture concepts, including lineage, metadata, master data, and reference data
- Demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders at all levels without direct authority
- Experience facilitating governance councils, working groups, or cross‐functional decision-making forums
