Job Summary
Define and operate data governance policies across multiple domains using Microsoft Purview, Databricks Unity Catalog, and Profisee. Implement the governance program vision by enforcing standards, managing asset oversight, and collaborating with data engineers to ensure quality and consistency. Develop policies for stakeholders, provide training, and monitor program effectiveness through key performance indicators. Identify improvement opportunities and ensure compliance with internal and external regulations. Lead meetings to communicate timelines and expectations while driving decisions on data standards. This role supports the data and analytics team's efforts to leverage governance capabilities throughout the medical device organization.
Required Qualifications
- A bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, business administration, or a related field
- At least 5 years of experience in data governance, data quality, data management, or a similar role
- Knowledge of data governance frameworks, principles, and methodologies
- Experience with data governance tools, such as data catalogs, data dictionaries, data lineage, data quality, and data security
- Strong communication, collaboration, and leadership skills, with the ability to influence and drive change across the organization
- Analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve data issues and risks
- A passion for data and a desire to continuously learn and improve
- Comfortable working in a high volume, fast-paced, rapidly changing, results-oriented work
- Experience presenting data for C-level stakeholders
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with project management and scrum tools in an Agile environment, especially those in the Microsoft Azure stack (Azure DevOps)
- Experience working with Unity Catalog, Microsoft Purview, and/or Profisee
- Experience working with offshore contractor resources
