Job Summary
Lead the development and execution of a scalable data governance strategy aligned with business goals and regulatory requirements. Define and enforce enterprise-wide data quality standards, oversee governance artifacts including policies and lineage documentation, and collaborate with stakeholders to manage classification and access controls. Drive the implementation of governance platforms to support workflows, facilitate issue resolution through root cause analysis, and track metrics for executive stakeholders. Ensure adherence to regulatory frameworks like HIPAA and GDPR while continuously evolving the program to meet emerging needs. This role supports Waystar's mission to simplify healthcare payments by maintaining the integrity and trustworthiness of operational data assets used across the organization.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in data governance, information management, business, or a related field
- 7+ years of experience in data analytics, data quality, or enterprise information management
- Demonstrated experience with data governance frameworks, data stewardship models, and regulatory compliance (e.g., HIPAA, GDPR)
- Proficiency with governance tools and technologies, such as Collibra, Informatica, Alation, or equivalent platforms
- Experience implementing and maintaining data quality measurement frameworks and KPIs
- You embody our values, promote data accountability, and lead with a collaborative mindset
Desired Qualifications
- Master's degree
- You hold certifications such as CDMP (Certified Data Management Professional) or DGSP (Data Governance & Stewardship Professional)
- You have hands-on experience with data cataloging, metadata management, and data lineage mapping
- You've worked in highly regulated industries such as healthcare or finance
