Data Governance Analyst – Smart Retail Ordering (SRO)

Job Summary
Support the rollout of data governance practices within the Smart Retail Ordering (SRO) programme by establishing clear data ownership and accountability with stakeholders across technology, retail, and supply chain functions. Develop and maintain data definitions, business glossaries, standards, and governance documentation for critical SRO data elements while improving product, supplier, inventory, and ordering data quality through Master Data Management practices. Monitor data quality, manage issues, conduct root cause analysis, and investigate discrepancies across data platforms to support transparency in ordering and stock management decisions. Partner with business and technology teams to embed governance principles into new processes, deliver training, and prepare ad hoc reports to drive continuous improvement and support governance reviews.
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience in data governance, data quality, or data management
- Strong understanding of retail buying, merchandising principles
- Retail, supply chain, merchandising, or operational data knowledge
- Ability to work effectively with both business stakeholders and technical teams
- Experience identifying, investigating, and resolving data quality issues
- Comfort operating in a fast-paced, evolving environment
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to engage and influence audiences at all levels
- High level of integrity, professionalism, diplomacy, and tact
- Strong planning, organisational, prioritisation, and multitasking skills
