Job Summary
The Data Engineering & Warehousing Manager at Hastings Insurance leads the design, development, and operational oversight of enterprise data pipelines and warehousing platforms, ensuring reliable ingestion, transformation, modeling, and storage of data to support business decision-making. This role includes managing data engineering teams, overseeing data integration from core systems, guiding data modeling practices, and ensuring adherence to data governance standards. A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and over 10 years of experience in data engineering with leadership skills are essential for succeeding in this position.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business, Economics, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 10+ years of progressive experience supporting data analysis initiatives, business data flows, or data engineering environments, including experience leading or mentoring technical teams.
Desired Qualifications
- Strong understanding of Property and Casualty insurance operations and information needs preferred.
- Demonstrated expertise in ETL design, development, and implementation.
- Working knowledge of project phases and general project management concepts.
- Experience across multiple computing environments including mainframe, client-server, and internet-based platforms.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools.
- Ability to exercise sound judgment, maintain confidentiality, and operate effectively in complex, time-sensitive environments.
