Job Summary
Data Engineer Professional II at Takeda ICC Bratislava will build and maintain scalable data models and pipelines using AWS-native technologies to support multiple business functions, ensure data quality and reconciliation, write test scripts, and collaborate with AGILE teams (frontend/backend engineers, product managers, QA) and enterprise/cloud teams to deliver integrated data products. Responsibilities include developing data models, data pipelines, performing data analysis to troubleshoot issues, and contributing to documentation and engineering wiki. Required skills include a Bachelor's degree in engineering/CS, 4+ years in data engineering, strong data integration/modeling capabilities, AWS cloud experience, SQL/No-SQL proficiency, PySpark, DB design, AGILE/SCRUM practices, Git, and knowledge of testing, security, and data governance. Preferred: experience with Spark/Kafka, IaC (Terraform), API integrations, and familiarity with Power BI; salaries in local currency noted with base ranges.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
- 4+ years of experience in data engineering, software development, data warehousing, data lake/mesh, and building data products
- Strong expertise in data integration, data modeling, and modern database technologies (GraphQL, SQL, No-SQL, Python, PySpark) and AWS cloud technologies (DMS, Lambda, Databricks, SQS, Step Functions)
- Extensive experience in DBA, schema design & dimensional modeling, and SQL optimization
- Experience with AGILE SCRUM practices; proficient with JIRA and Confluence
- Knowledge of SDLC, version control (Git), and CI/CD pipelines
- Experience with automated testing tools and frameworks (unit/integration/E2E)
- Familiarity with relational and non-relational databases (PostgreSQL, MongoDB, DynamoDB)
- Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
- Fluency in English
