Job Summary

Lead strategic data pipeline development and drive Agile delivery for Schwab's Operational Data Exchange platform. Provide hands-on technical leadership, mentoring team members, and decomposing stories to ensure high-quality software releases. Collaborate with stakeholders across Product, QA, and Technology Operations to prioritize tasks, mitigate risks, and streamline existing systems for stability. Create deployment artifacts, coordinate onshore-offshore development, and implement security controls to protect sensitive financial data. Align business needs with technical solutions to reduce time to market and enable scalable, client-centric data architecture.

  • Master's or bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology or similar/equivalent area of study
  • Minimum of 5 years working in the financial services industry
  • Minimum of 10-12 years of solid data engineering experience
  • Minimum of 3 years strategic project leadership and delivery experience in matrixed organization
  • Strong understanding of Data Warehouse concepts (star schema, slowly changing dimensions, fact/dimension modeling) and Operational Data Exchanges/Stores
  • Solid understanding of data lifecycle, metadata management, and governance standards
  • Good understanding of latest Architecture and Development Standards and Guidelines
  • Willingness to learn new skills and keep up with technology changes in future to meet business needs
  • Demonstrated ability to disagree, debate your case with data, and commit to deliver regardless of the outcome
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required for composing and delivering technical presentations or other forms of documentation to various levels of technical and non-technical management
  • Prior experience working with vendor resources in an onshore-offshore model and driving delivery and collaboration for maximum output
  • Implement data security controls and access management policies to protect sensitive information
  • Minimum of 5 years working in the financial services industry

  • This position will be located in our Southlake, TX location

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience working with and sourcing data from Corporate Systems like Workday, BMC Remedy Helix, Jira, Rally, etc.
  • Experience providing guidance, direction, and feedback to other technical staff to meet agreed upon objectives
  • Ability to analyze, propose and implement timely, cost effective, quality solutions for all issues or problems within area of responsibility
  • Proficient managing multiple priorities in a well-organized, dynamic, geographically dispersed environment
  • Experience implementing streaming and event driven solutions using Confluent Kafka
  • Data Visualization including report design, use or reporting tools
  • Experience in dev tools such as GitHub, Bamboo, Liquibase
  • Experience and demonstrate proficiency in cloud-based technologies (GCP preferred)
