Job Summary
Senior Data Engineer role within the Air Force Intelligence Chief Data Office (AF IC CDO) shaping the enterprise data infrastructure for the Long-Range Kill Chain. Architect and implement data fabric solutions using technologies such as Apache Iceberg, Trino, and cloud-native storage; translate complex commercial data concepts into mission-ready solutions; contribute to security-first data architectures with Zero Trust and ABAC controls; collaborate across DoD/IC domains (NSA/NGA/NASIC contexts) to enable decision superiority for warfighters; proficiency in Python for data processing and orchestration, and familiarity with data governance, metadata catalogs, and modern analytics readiness (LLMs, RAG). The role requires an active Top Secret clearance with SSBI and SCI eligibility, a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience, and a demonstrated ability to learn rapidly in classified environments. Location: Washington, DC area (on-site) with Chantilly, VA as an additional listed location. Salary range: $125,000 – $185,000 plus benefits.
Required Qualifications
- Active Top Secret Security Clearance with SSBI and SCI eligibility
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field (or equivalent extensive practical experience)
- Strong Python proficiency for data processing, automation, and orchestration
- Ability to rapidly learn new domain-specific systems (e.g., IC data sources, tactical edge environments) and apply data engineering principles
- Security-first mindset with data classification, access control models, and compliance frameworks
