Job Summary
Data Engineer responsible for building and maintaining data pipelines, integration, warehousing, modeling, quality and governance for tolling solutions. Collaborates with data scientists/analysts to enable analytics and reporting using tools such as DeltaLake, SQL, Python, Tableau, QuickSight, Kafka, Apache Flink, Apache Doris, and Superset. Designs scalable ETL/ELT processes, ingests data from databases, APIs, streaming platforms, and NoSQL systems (MongoDB Atlas, Debezium, Kafka Connect), and ensures data reliability and performance. Applies cloud expertise (AWS), containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) to deploy scalable infrastructure. Emphasizes data quality, governance, security (RBAC/IAM, encryption) and regulatory compliance (GDPR/CCPA). Strong communication in English and collaboration with stakeholders; knowledge of Jira/Confluence is beneficial. Remote/hybrid work within Hungary is indicated, with multiple Hungarian cities as potential locations.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, natural science, mathematics, business or equivalent work experience in IT
- Strong expertise with DeltaLake, SQL, Python, Tableau, QuickSight, Kafka, Apache Flink, Apache Doris, Superset, Schema Registry
- Experience designing and building scalable ETL/ELT data pipelines from multiple sources into data warehouses/data lakes
- Experience integrating data from databases, APIs, streaming platforms, and NoSQL systems (MongoDB Atlas, Debezium, Kafka Connect)
- Ability to automate and optimize data workflows, monitor pipeline health, troubleshoot infrastructure or processing issues
- Strong data modeling and data architecture skills; scalable storage solutions for large-scale analytics
- Knowledge of data quality management, validation, cleansing, harmonization, governance
- Experience with AWS cloud compute/storage, scalability, security, cost efficiency
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform for IaC
- Security, compliance, access management (RBAC, IAM, encryption); GDPR/CCPA awareness
- Collaboration with analysts/data scientists; stakeholder management; English communication
- Experience in SAFe environment (advantage) and German language knowledge (advantage)
- Remote working within Hungary due to taxation regulation
