Data Engineer/Python SQL Developer

Job Summary
Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines, ETL workflows, and backend processing solutions using Python and SQL. Implement cloud-based engineering capabilities leveraging AWS Lambda, AWS Glue, and Amazon S3 while applying database design principles for schema development and data integrity. Analyze requirements to translate them into secure data solutions, develop technical artifacts including documentation and data flow diagrams, and troubleshoot integration issues. Participate in Agile ceremonies, manage backlogs, and perform code reviews within a Jira workflow. This role supports mission-focused Department of Defense or U.S. Air Force environments, requiring experience with secure data handling and complex enterprise integrations.
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience as an advanced or expert-level Python and SQL developer
- Hands-on experience with AWS Lambda, AWS Glue, Amazon S3, and related ETL or cloud data integration tools
- Strong understanding of database design and data architecture best practices
- Experience producing clear, structured technical documentation for development and operational use
- Experience working within Agile delivery teams and using Jira to support workflow management
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
Desired Qualifications
- Prior experience supporting Department of Defense or U.S. Air Force programs
- Existing Air Force credentials and/or ability to work in a secure or controlled government environment
- Familiarity with secure data handling, compliance-driven delivery, and mission-oriented technology programs
- Experience working in complex enterprise data environments with multiple upstream and downstream integrations
