Job Summary
Build reliable enterprise data solutions by designing storage systems, developing pipelines to automate collection and transformation, and optimizing retrieval for performance. Establish strong partnerships with business units to align on project goals and ensure data quality through validation and monitoring. Work with analysts and stakeholders to deliver appropriate tools for research scientists, grain buyers, and marketers while leveraging data from bioethanol plant sensors, commodity pricing, and financial sources. Operate on-site in Sioux Falls, SD, driving a company vehicle. Requires 10+ years of experience, proficiency in Python, SQL, and Java, and expertise in distributed systems and DevOps.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Associate's degree
- Degrees in Engineering, Computer Science, or a hard science
- 10+ years of relevant experience (Senior) – 0-5 for Entry Level, 5-10 for Mid-Level
- Proficient in Agile methodologies
- Experience with distributed systems
- Experience with orchestration tools
- Experience building and supporting high availability, high volume data systems
- Experience with database selection and design
- Experience with DevOps practices, such as infrastructure as code and automated deployment pipelines
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to learn new programs
- Excellent coding skills, including python, R, C#, SQL, and Java
- The ability to create ELT pipelines
- A high level of personal integrity
- The ability to work in a team environment
- The ability to drive a POET vehicle
- A motor vehicle record check will be conducted during the pre-employment process
