Job Summary
Data Engineer who designs, develops, and operates cloud-based data and analytics platforms and pipelines on GCP to acquire, cleanse, transform, and publish data from diverse sources. Responsibilities include building and operating GCP data pipelines (BigQuery, Cloud Composer, Dataplex), contributing to an enterprise data lake evolution toward open-table formats and self-serve data sharing, embedding data quality checks into CI/CD, maintaining cross-cloud data sharing between GCP and Azure Databricks (Lakehouse Federation, open formats), and developing reusable Terraform templates for self-serve provisioning and policy guardrails. Requires collaboration with data asset managers, architects, and development leads, and a strong foundation in data processing, data architecture, and scripting (Python/SQL). Certifications targeted include Azure DP-203, Databricks Professional Data Engineer, Apache Spark Developer Associate, and Google Cloud Professional Data Engineer. Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
- Experience in data engineering, data science, or related field
- Proficiency with data architecture and data processing tools
- Must-have: Working knowledge of Azure Databricks and Unity Catalog
- Nice-to-have: Hands-on experience with GCP (BigQuery, Composer, Dataplex, IAM) and Terraform
- Strong Python and SQL skills
- Experience integrating data quality tooling into CI/CD pipelines
