Job Summary
Data Engineer to join a Europe-based engineering team building the next generation of a digital shopping marketplace. Responsibilities include designing and implementing real-time streaming and batch data pipelines using Spark, Kafka, and AWS; maintaining and enhancing data warehousing solutions; collaborating with Engineering, Data Science, and Data Analysts to enable data-driven decision making; developing CI/CD pipelines; exploring new data processing/storage technologies; contributing to internal and open-source projects. Ideal candidates will have 2+ years of experience with big data tools, proficiency in Scala/Python, and a Bachelor's degree in CS/Engineering, with a focus on delivering scalable data infrastructure and trusted datasets for internal and external stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelorās degree in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent
- 2+ years of work experience building data pipelines ingesting and transforming large data sets
- 2+ years of work experience with Spark, Kafka, Airflow, etc.
- Proficiency in one or more general purpose programming languages, preferably Scala and Python
- Track record of shipping quality code and delivering high quality features
- Passion for data and driving a data-driven culture
