Job Summary
Data Engineer (Mid-Snr) at Norrin building modern, scalable data pipelines and platforms using Azure, Databricks, and Microsoft Fabric. Responsibilities include designing and building scalable data pipelines, contributing to architectural decisions, implementing data models with security, driving CI/CD and development best practices, and sharing knowledge through the Data Engineering Guild. Hybrid working model with flexibility and in-person collaboration; international operation with Finland roots and presence in Nordics/US/APAC. Requirements include 4+ years in data engineering, strong SQL/Python/PySpark, Databricks/Microsoft Fabric in Azure, production ETL/ELT experience, data warehousing/modeling, CI/CD/infrastructure automation, Lakehouse/medallion patterns, data security, and client-facing communication. Finnish and English proficiency; optional certifications and Power BI/GenAI/MLOps experience are a plus.
Required Qualifications
- At least 4 years of experience in data engineering or analytics development
- Strong proficiency in SQL, Python, and PySpark
- Strong experience developing Databricks and/or Microsoft Fabric solutions within Azure environments
- Proven track record building scalable data pipelines and ETL/ELT solutions in production (Databricks, Azure Data Factory, Synapse, Fabric)
- Solid understanding of data warehousing, data modeling, and integration architectures
- Experience with CI/CD, version control, and infrastructure automation (Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions)
- Understanding of modern data architecture patterns such as Lakehouse and medallion models
- Solid understanding of data security, privacy, and development best practices
- Ability to act independently as a technical expert in client-facing settings
- Strong consultative mindset and ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and business stakeholders
- Fluent skills in both Finnish and English
- Nice To Have: Experience with Snowflake, DBT, Azure or Databricks certifications, Power BI, Gen AI/MLOps, Terraform, Azure networking and access management concepts
