Job Summary
Design and implement robust processes for ingesting, transforming, and delivering data from multiple operational and enterprise systems. Develop and optimize data models, schemas, and storage solutions to support analytic workloads, while integrating security, access control, and auditing in compliance with DoD/USMC policies. Collaborate with analysts, data scientists, and AI/ML teams to ensure solutions meet performance requirements, and support the deployment of APIs or data services. Document data architectures and flows, then troubleshoot and resolve pipeline infrastructure issues. Requires a Bachelor's degree, 3–5 years of data engineering experience including 2 years in a DoD environment, SQL proficiency, and an Active TS/SCI Clearance. Salary range is $135,000 to $155,000 annually.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Data Science, or related field
- 3–5 years of experience in data engineering, database development, or similar technical role
- at least 2 years in a DoD/Federal enterprise environment
- Proficiency with SQL
- at least one modern programming language (e.g., Python, Java)
- Experience building and maintaining data pipelines and processes
- Experience with relational databases (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle)
- familiarity with data warehousing concepts
- Understanding of data security and governance concepts within controlled environments
- Strong documentation and communication skills
- ability to work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Active TS/SCI Clearance
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with cloud-based data platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP, or DoD cloud equivalents)
- Familiarity with big data or distributed processing technologies (e.g., Spark, Hadoop)
- modern orchestration tools (e.g., Airflow)
- Experience supporting USMC CD&I or other DoD headquarters/staff organizations
