Job Summary
Data Engineer within Mastercard’s Enterprise and Credit Risk (ECR) organization who will help implement analytics features and data models across on-prem and cloud data platforms. Responsibilities include building and maintaining analytics data models and scalable data pipelines, delivering high-quality, well-tested code, mentoring junior engineers, and partnering with Product Managers and Designers to understand users and use cases to scope and build new modules. The role requires strong programming in Python or Scala, experience with Spark/Hadoop ecosystem, SQL, production-grade data workflows, and experience deploying data-driven applications in cloud environments (Databricks/AWS/Azure). A degree in Computer Science or related field and a track record of collaborative work in agile teams are required.
Required Qualifications
- 4+ years of full stack engineering experience in an agile production environment
- Degree in Computer Science or related technical field
- Strong proficiency in Python or Scala
- Experience with Spark, Hadoop platforms & tools (Hive, Impala, Airflow, NiFi, Scoop)
- SQL proficiency to build Big Data products
- Experience delivering production-level data-driven applications and data processing workflows
- Experience implementing machine learning systems at scale (Java, Scala, or Python)
- Experience with cloud technologies (Databricks/AWS/Azure)
- Ability to collaborate across roles and geographies
- Excellent written and verbal English communication
