Job Summary
Data Engineer - Java to design and implement integrations between our customer support platform and SAP systems. Build SAP integrations (REST, OData, SOAP, BAPI, RFCs) to pull tickets, customer data, and knowledge articles from SAP Service Cloud, SAP CRM, and related modules; enable real-time data synchronization; develop APIs/connectors; implement authentication (OAuth 2.0, SAML, API keys); map SAP data to our platform schema; document API specifications and data flows; optimize performance with rate limiting and error handling; work on inbound and outbound SAP integrations across Helpdesk, CRM, and Content Management capabilities; collaborate with product and engineering teams; familiarity with SAP CX/Sales/Service Cloud, SAP S/4HANA, SAP Gateway, SAP UI5/Fiori, and related tools.
Required Qualifications
- SAP Expertise with 5+ years
- Deep knowledge of SAP Service Cloud and/or SAP CRM
- Experience with SAP CX suite components including SAP Sales Cloud, SAP Service Cloud, SAP Marketing Cloud, SAP Commerce Cloud
- Strong understanding of SAP integration technologies: SAP Integration Suite, SAP PI/PO, Dell Boomi, or similar middleware
- Experience with SAP APIs (OData, REST, SOAP, BAPI, RFCs)
- Familiarity with SAP data structures and business objects
- Knowledge of SAP Gateway for exposing APIs
- Proficiency in Java, Python, Node.js or similar
- Experience building RESTful APIs and webhooks
- API authentication and security protocols
- Data transformation, ETL, and data modeling
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
- Git and CI/CD
- Experience with SAP inbound/outbound integrations (third-party integrations)
- Experience with helpdesk/CRM/knowledge management integrations (Zendesk, Salesforce, ServiceNow, Jira)
- Understanding of webhook patterns and event-driven architectures
- Handling API rate limiting and error handling
- Knowledge of GDPR and data privacy for enterprise integrations
- Experience with SAP Knowledge Central by NICE
- SAP certification in relevant modules (preferred)
- Experience with SAP BTP and SAP Cloud Platform
- Knowledge of SAP Fiori/UI5
- Experience with SAP CX AI capabilities
- Experience with SAP Gateway for OData service development
- Knowledge of SAP HANA and in-memory databases
- Experience with SAP legacy patterns (IDoc, RFC/BAPI)
- Familiarity with microservices architecture
- Monitoring/logging tools (Datadog, New Relic, ELK)
- Previous SaaS/customer support integrations experience
