Job Summary
Data Engineer I role supporting design, development, and maintenance of data pipelines and workflows in a remote-first environment. Responsibilities include assisting with data integration and transformation using Python, T-SQL, SSMS, Databricks, and Azure Data Factory; collaborating with other data engineers on architecture; working with large healthcare datasets to identify business needs and provide data-driven solutions; translating business requirements into technical specifications; participating in code reviews and contributing to team knowledge sharing; developing and maintaining documentation for data engineering processes; creating ad-hoc reports for internal and external partners; supporting 100+ data pipelines; coordinating with application development teams to update data structures; providing analysis and recommendations to business process owners and leadership; proposing automated solutions to repetitive tasks.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree with major coursework in Computer Science or Business Administration/related field required. Equivalent work experience in a similar position may be substituted for educational requirements.
- Basic knowledge of Python, T-SQL, and relational databases.
- Familiarity with data integration, transformation, and data warehousing concepts.
- Strong desire to learn and work with healthcare data and advanced technologies like SSMS, Databricks, and Azure Data Factory.
- Proficiency in compiling data, creating reports, and presenting information.
- Ability to effectively prioritize tasks while working on multiple concurrent projects.
- Strong written, verbal, and customer service skills.
